Coming off of a win at the Huntsville Half Marathon last weekend, IDP runner Grayson Murphy will be leaving the roads and taking that momentum into thinner air and higher elevations for her race at the USATF Mountain Running Championships on Sunday, September 29th.

Waterville Valley Mountain Race, Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, will play host to this championship event. The top 4 finishers in both the women's and men's races will earn automatic spots on the US Mountain Running Team, scheduled to compete at the World Mountain Running Championships on November 15, 2019, in Villa La Angostura, Argentina.

Grayson had this to say about her upcoming race: "I am super excited and humbled to be attending my first big mountain race. I can't wait to see what mountains the east coast has to offer and compete against some of the best mountain runners in the country."

Coach Kameron Ulmer stated regarding his new IDP runner, "Grayson is a very talented runner on the roads and on the trails. I have really enjoyed working with her because she has challenged me as a coach. She has taught me to think outside the box when it comes to training strategies and how to keep strong in road racing as well as trail racing."

Grayson and her competitors will be racing one lap up and down the mountain, approximately 7 miles total distance with 3,000 feet of elevation gain. The gun will go off for the women's race at 8:30 am Eastern Standard Time.

Good luck, Grayson! You will have your head in the clouds and your feet on the ground tearing up that mountain!
